Shift In Musical Style
For the She Wolf album Shakira has shifted her sound from Latin pop to a more electronic, club-oriented dance sound. She has said the album will still have a very international feel and told MTV it will incorporate, "Elements of Colombian, Indian, Middle Eastern and African musical styles." Electronica and synthesizers are expected to be key parts of the music throughoutShe Wolf.
High Profile Collaborators
For the She Wolf album, Shakira is working with high profile production collaborators. RedOne, who did the famed "Bamboo" mix of "Hips Don't Lie," is working with Shakira. Pharrell Williams will bring his hip hop dance sounds to the project. Shakira is also working again with Wyclef Jean, her partner on "Hips Don't Lie
First Single "She Wolf"
The first single from Shakira's album is the title song "She Wolf." It includes influences and elements from 70's disco to help tell the tale of a woman in need of exploring her sexuality. The song has been a #1 Latin pop hit as well as reaching the top 10 in a number of European countries. It is a also a top 10 dance hit in the US.
